Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces all-beef hot dogs Use good-quality hot dogs for best taste.
  • 4 pieces brioche buns Any soft bun can be used.
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Use as a spread inside the bun.
Toppings
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced Caramelized for topping.
  • 1 piece jalapeño, sliced Add more for extra heat.
Cooking Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp butter For caramelizing the onions.
  • 1 tsp oil Combined with butter.
Condiments
  • Sriracha to taste Adjust based on heat preference.
  • Mustard to taste Optional condiment.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat butter and oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and cook slowly until soft and golden brown, about 12–15 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Use a sharp knife to butterfly each hot dog lengthwise, cutting almost but not all the way through.
Cooking
  1. Grill the hot dogs over high heat for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely charred and heated through.
  2. Lightly toast the buns on the grill until golden.
  3. Spread a thick layer of cream cheese inside each warm bun.
  4. Place the grilled hot dog into the bun and top with caramelized onions and sliced jalapeños.
  5. Drizzle with Sriracha and mustard. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve hot off the grill. Pair with potato chips or fresh salad. Adjust toppings to personal taste.
