Preparation
- Drain half of the liquid out of the green beans.
- Pour the green beans and the reserved half of the canning liquid into a skillet.
- Add butter, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer uncovered and stir occasionally until almost all of the cooking liquid has evaporated. This should take no more than 10 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
Notes
You can serve these green beans with almost any meal and add them to casseroles or salads. For extra flavor, consider sprinkling grated cheese or toasted nuts on top before serving. If you have leftovers, they can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to a month.
