Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a larger bowl, beat the room-temperature butter and sugar until fluffy and light.
- Mix in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, blending well.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; don’t overmix!
- Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. Be careful not to overmix to avoid dense cupcakes. Experiment with fillings like fruit preserves or ganache for a surprise inside.
