Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool.
Frosting
- For the frosting, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
- Frost the cooled bars and cut into squares to serve.
Notes
These bars are best served at room temperature. Add colorful sprinkles on top for a festive touch. Store in an airtight container; they keep at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for about a week.
