Ingredients

Cake Base
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Topping
  • 1.5 cups mini marshmallows For toasting on top
  • 1 cup heavy cream For whipped cream topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9-inch cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until fully combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared cake pan.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add to the crumb mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips and pour the batter over the crust in the pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Topping
  1. Once cooled, spread mini marshmallows on top and use a kitchen torch to toast the marshmallows until golden brown.
  2. For the whipped cream, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then spread or dollop on top of the cake.
Serving
  1. Serve and enjoy your decadent S'mores Cake! Cut into slices and offer it with a side of extra whipped cream or chocolate sauce.

Notes

Make sure to use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Keep a close eye on toasting marshmallows to avoid burning. You can sprinkle some sea salt on top of the whipped cream for added flavor. A fun twist includes substituting some chocolate chips with white chocolate.
