Ingredients

Tea Base
  • 4 bags Black tea or green tea bags (or loose leaf; opt for decaf if preferred)
Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups Fresh mango, peeled and chopped (or frozen mango if fresh isn’t available)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or sugar (to taste; agave or maple syrup can be alternatives)
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice (fresh is best, but bottled works in a pinch)
  • 2 cups Ice cubes (use frozen mango chunks for an extra chill)
Optional Ingredients
  • 5 leaves Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Boil water and steep the tea bags according to package instructions. Let the tea cool to room temperature once brewed.
  2. Peel and chop your fresh mango into small cubes while the tea is cooling.
  3. In a blender, combine a portion of the mango cubes with a splash of cooled tea. Blend until smooth.
  4. Taste your mango puree and add honey or sugar if desired. Blend again to combine.
  5. In a large pitcher, combine the remaining cooled tea, mango puree, lemon juice, and the rest of the mango chunks. Stir well.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the mango iced tea over, and garnish with fresh mint if desired.

Notes

Experiment with different tea types for unique flavors. Chill glasses before serving and feel free to substitute mango with other fruits like pineapple or strawberries.
