Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces Chicken thighs (or breasts) Use thighs for best flavor, boneless breasts can also work.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Can substitute with butter for a richer taste.
  • 4 cloves Fresh garlic, minced Fresh gives the best flavor; garlic powder can be used if needed.
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice Fresh is preferred, bottled is acceptable.
  • 1 cup Heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese Can swap with pecorino Romano for a different taste.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper Essential for seasoning, adjust according to preference.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish, fresh is better but dried may be used.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the chicken dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Cooking the Chicken
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
Making the Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and lemon juice; stir until combined. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  3. Stir in the grated Parmesan and mix until melted. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Final Steps
  1. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over each piece and let simmer for another minute.
  2. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, let the chicken rest after cooking, use a meat thermometer for optimal doneness, and consider customizing with herbs or spices to suit your taste.
