Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix until everything is well blended.
- Slice your baguette or Italian bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces.
- Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over both halves of the bread.
- If using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the buttered bread.
- Place the bread on a baking tray and bake for about 10-15 minutes, until golden and crispy on the edges.
- Let it cool for a minute before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
Use softened butter for easy spreading. Consider roasting garlic beforehand for a sweeter flavor. For crispy bread, avoid overdoing the butter; a thin layer works best. You can place bread on the top rack for extra crispiness in the last 2 minutes of baking. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days, or frozen for a month. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-7 minutes.
