Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground beef (at least 80% lean) You can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 1 tsp Salt Essential for amplifying the meat's natural flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper Freshly ground works best.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Can be swapped with onion powder.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Soy sauce can be used as a substitute.
Optional Enhancements
  • as desired tsp Herbs or spices Smoked paprika or Italian herbs could add a delicious twist.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and any optional herbs or spices. Use your hands to combine gently; avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into a round patty, about ¾-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
  3. Place the patties on a plate or tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add a little oil if not using a non-stick surface.
  2. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until your desired doneness is reached.
  3. Let the patties rest for a few minutes before serving to retain their juices.

Notes

Store cooked patties in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Uncooked patties freeze well for up to 2 months. Reheat in a skillet or microwave until heated through, adding a splash of water to keep moist.
