Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup Sourdough starter Make sure your sourdough starter is active.
  • 3 cups Bread flour Use a kitchen scale for precise measurement.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water Warm water is preferred.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, bread flour, salt, and water until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 240-360 minutes.
Shaping and Second Rise
  1. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a floured proofing basket.
  2. Allow it to rise again for about 60-120 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
  2. Once preheated, carefully transfer the loaf to the hot Dutch oven.
  3. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

Wrap the bread in a clean kitchen towel or place it in a bread box to keep it fresh. For longer storage, freeze the sliced bread wrapped in plastic wrap and foil.
